GhanaLife: A Cultural Reflection Exhibition (Ghana, 2015)

The exhibition was presented at The Centre for National Culture’s Arts Centre, by a collaborative group involving;  Cross-Cultural Collaborative (CCC), Afro Dance & Creative Arts (ADCA), The Centre for National Culture (CNC), Ghana Association of Visual Artists (GAVA) and Ghana Arts Teachers Association (GATA). The exhibition was produced by Ellie Schielman, director of CCC; and curated/managed by Dominique Rada and Seidu Karfo.

The exhibition was programmed as part of GATA and GAVA’s “August Collaborators for August Visitors” program in August 2015. The GhanaLife exhibition incorporated 1 week exhibition presentation with an opening ceremony incorporating Kite Making workshop, artist forum talks and dance performance by Afro Dance and Creative Arts crew.

The project brought together established, emerging and creative youth from Ghana, USA, UK, Australia and Belgium.
The artwork collection was a reflection of the artists’ experiences in relation to living, being, or experiencing Ghana for the first time or for a longtime – It’s people and environment. It displayed a collection of photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture, textiles, and locally handmade paper creatives.
